Grief as Francis Kiplagat’s body arrives in Eldoret

It was sorrow, tears and total grief as family members, friends and athletes viewed the body of an athlete Francis Kiplagat was brought to Eldoret. 

The runner from Nandi County was involved in an accident on Monday night alongside Vincent Yator who is nursing injuries at Reale Hospital in Eldoret.

The body was moved to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) in Eldoret as the committee plans for his burial later in the week.

His death was a big blow to the family since he was an orphan who was highly dependable.

Kiplagat who trains in kapsbet, Nandi County  is credited is after winning the Association of Road Running Statisticians with lifetime bests of 14:58 (5km), 29:45 (10km), 62:49 (Half Marathon) and 2:15:57 (Marathon).

Most of the affected were aboard a North Rift Shuttle Passenger Service Vehicle that was travelling from Eldoret to Nairobi.

He won the 2015 Srem (68:08) and Bialystok (65:08) half marathons in Poland as well as the Olesno (14:58) 5K road race in the same country.
