Tanzanian international Victor Joseph came to Kenya, conquered and ran away with the Muthaiga Open Golf Championships, the third leg of Kenya Amateur Golf Championships (KAGC).
The Dar es Salaam Gymkhana player played two over 215 at the par 71 Muthaiga Golf Club where top amateurs played 54 holes in the two day event that kicked off on Saturday and ended today.
Off scratch golfer Joseph beat reigning KAGC champion Edwin Mudanyi with two shots and the later from Vet lab finished with four over 117.
Joseph started well with two over 73 in the opening round of 18 holes, before recovering with three under 68 on Saturday’s 36 holes and fired three over 74 on Sunday to beat Mudanyi.
Mudanyi started with three over 74 and one over 72 before his final round of level par 71 which gave him a total of 217 gross.
Vet Lab’s Robinson Owiti finished third after playing nine over 222 (69, 78 and 75).
