Starlets begin their AFCON journey against Uganda today

National women’s football team Harambee Starlets will host Uganda as they kick their campaign for 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCA).

In the two meetings, Kenya hosts the opener today at Machakos stadium, in a match that will be televised on KBC at 3PM (EAT) in the qualifier with the return leg slated for April 8 in Uganda.

With their preparations for the match, the Kenyan Queens played one International Friendly match against Zambia in Kitwe, winning 3-0.

David Ouma coached side will have to prove his contentment with the team’s preparations ahead of the match, searching for better result at home.

Starlets made a maiden appearance at the 2016 showpiece in Cameroon, bowing out in the first round at the hands of Nigeria, Ghana, and Mali. The two-legged tie against Uganda will determine who meets Equatorial Guinea in the second and final qualifying round.
