Justus Madoya takes overnight lead at Pros Road To Karen Masters

Popularly referred to as pastor, Justus Madoya will enjoy day one with three shots in the second leg of Road To Karen Masters Professional Golf Series played today at par 72 Sigona Golf Club.

The Great Rift Valley Resort player of the won the first round one, firing five under 67 before heading for the last two rounds ahead of second placed Jacob Okello on Tuesday for the last 36 holes to complete the circuit.

With golfers playing 54 holes, the second round is set for Tuesday which will be followed by the third round on Wednesday.

Madoya fired five birdies, a bogey of the outward nine, but quickly went back to four under after winding the nine with a birdie at the par five-ninth hole before adding two birdies to go six under until he dropped one at the 17th to sign for a five-under 67 for the day.

He leads Okello with three shots after playing two under 70 as well as first leg winner Erick Ooko from Royal Club who also played two under par 70.

Newly turned professional Kenneth Bollo from Royal Club, played level par 72 as well as Nelson Simwa and Njuguna Ngugi.
