Battle for royale at Amateur Match Play

Last year’s Kenya Amateur Matchplay runner up Edwin Mudanyi will be taking on Kenya Amateur Strokeplay champion Daniel Nduva in the quarters of Kenya Amateur Match Play championships, which is part of the Kenya Amateur Golf Championships (KAGC) happening on par 72 Thika Greens golf club.

The reigning KAGC champion Mudanyi will take on his Nduva as the winner, who will be determnined on Sunday gets a direct entry into 2019 Kenya Golf Open.
Mudanyi won against Peter Rimui from Nanyuki 3-2 while Nduva beat Vet Lab’s Robinson Owiti.
But much focus will be on KAGC leader John Karichu who will be taking on club mate Paul Muchangi after ousting former Strokeplay champion John Kariuki 3-2 while Muchangi defeated Royal Club’s Dennis Saikwa.
Youngster Mutahi Kibugu from Muthaiga defeated the only deaf golfer Isaac Makokha from Vet Lab by one up to set the battle against Samuel Njoroge (Railways) who beat Royal Club’s Jay Sandhu one up.
Fresh from winning Coronation Trophy title in Nakuru, Vet Lab’s Mike Kisia will take on club mate Isaiah Otuke. Kisia defeated club mate George Felix as Otuke shone over Golf Park’s John Lejirma 4-3.
