Sum, Nyairera face Semenya in Lausanne DL Meeting

Former 800m world champion Eunice Sum and Olympic Games 800m bronze medallist will face off with all time winner Caster Semenya in Thursday’s Lausanne Diamond League in Switzerland.

Sum, who finished 8th in last meeting at Paris, will be in action against Nyairera, who has been facing stiff competition from South African Semenya.

Collins Cheboi and former world U18 men’s 3000m silver medalist, Davis Kiplangat.

Former world U18 men’s 3000m champion, Richard Yator, African 1500m bronze medalist, Vincent Letting, Sylvester Kipchirchir and Richard Kimunyan will be in action in 1,500m.

Kipchirchir and Kimunyan will be making their season debut while Letting is yet to complete his races in the series after three Diamond League outings.

World Indoor Championships force, Winny Chebet, will lead Kenyan charge in women’s 1500m that has 18 entries.

Chebet will be flanked in the race by African 800m bronze medalist, Emily Cherotich, who finished a distant seventh (1:58.99) in 1500m in Paris at the weekend
