Harambee Stars junior team started their Cecafa campaign on a high by defeating South Sudan in their opening match at Chamazi stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
The under 17 team beat the world’s newest country 4-0 to increase their chances of reaching semifinal match, with champions taking a slot for 2019 Africa U17 Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Keith Imabli broke the deadlock with 12 minutes into the match before Mathew Mwendwa double the tally on the 30th minute.
The Mike Amenga led charges scored the third through Telvin Maina on the 76th minutes as Nicholas Omondi converted a penalty after Richdonald Bolo was impeded inside the box.
The juniors will now face Djibouti on Friday before training their guns on Uganda and Ethiopia in their final two games of Group B.
