Tears of sorrow marred Eldoret Hospital when the body of the late athlete Nicholas Bett was removed from the morgue ahead of tomorrow’s burial in his ancestral home in Simat village, Uasin Gishu County.
Bett, the 2015 World Athletics championships 400m hurdles champions in Beijing, China at Bird’s nest stadium ended Kenyan long wait for Kenya to win gold in the hurdles, died last Wednesday in a road crash along Kapsabet-Nakuru highway.
Doted in national colours, athletes led by former world 800m champion Janeth Jepkosgey, former world javelin champion Julius Yego among others gathered at the morgue together with family members.
