Daniel Nduva set to defend Nyali Championships title

Daniel Nduva will be seeking to defend his Nyali Open golf tournament, the last series of the Kenya Amateur Golf Championships (KAGC) at Nyali Golf Club this weekend.

 The event is also the World Amateur Ranking event that has attracted top amateur golfers in the country and the East Africa golfers like Tanzania and Uganda all trying to make a point in the coastal city championships.

Nduva won Uhuru Shield a fort night ago at Royal Golf Club, Nairobi, will be a start attraction for the championships where the series teed off first at Sigona Bowl at the Sigona Golf Club and winds up at the scenic Nyali Golf Club where Kenya Golf Union awards the country’s top amateur golfer at the Nyali Open.

The 54-hole Stroke Play Nyali Open has attracted a field of 84 golfers including Tanzania’s top amateur Victor Joseph and Adam Abbas, Uganda’s Joel Basalaine and Joseph Chinywai will take part in the event.

Nduva, who won the Kenya Amateur Matchplay to make it for the 2019 Kenya Open Golf championships, posted 73, 71, and 75 for a total of 219 to beat Tanzania’s Victor Joseph and another Nyali and South Africa based golfer Mathew Wahome by five shots.
