Sofapaka, Bandari victorious

Omar Kasumba scored a brace as former Kenya Premier League (KPL) Sofapaka stunned Mathare United in a match played today at Moi Sports Centre, Kasarani.

Bandari also defeated cash strapped Vihiga United in Mbaraki to join in the top list of KPL contenders.

Mathare who registered their second loss in the league still leads the table. The slum boys first lost to mount Kenya United and today’s to Sofapaka in a 1-4 win for the visiting big cats.

Elli Asieche scored the opener for Sofapaka before Titus Achesa added the second followed by kasumba goal before Kevin Kimani pulled one back for Mathare before kasumba sealed the 4-1 victory.

At Mbaraki, two goals from David Kingatua and Yema Mwana sealed a 2-0 victory for Bandari against Vihiga. Kingatua scored first in the 10th minute before Mwana added the second in the 76th minute.
In another match Shaphan Oyugi scored the lone goal as Kariobangi Sharks to edge out hosts Kakamega Homeboyz 1-0.
