Kenya premier League (KPL) champions Gor Mahia won by a solitary goal against Petro Atletico to match into the quarter final of the CAF Confederation Cup.
With the match receiving two red cards, one for each side, ten men Gor Mahia, where all coaches were sent off the bench sealed the victory against visiting Petro Atletico at Moi Sports Centre, Kasarani this evening.
Jacques Tuyisenge converted the penalty the hosts needed to win against in the 56th minute when Boniface Omondi was fouled inside the box, promoting the referee to call for a penalty.
Head coach Hassan Oktay, players Ernest Wendo and Shafiq Batambuze were sent off in the 36th and 44th minutes.
Wendo was sent off for an unnecessary high boot into the waist of Petro ‘s Vladamir Eston, who had to be pulled off shortly afterwards before Oktay was given the boot 10 minutes later for dissent as Batambuze was shown red in the 77th minute of the match after recording a second bookable offense.
