Handicap 11 golfer Moses Karuga won the 2019 Governor’s golf Cup played on Saturday in Nakuru.
Playing on home course, Karuga won the Nakuru governor, Lee Kinyanjui’s title after carding 21 and 22 points in each nine for a total score of 43 stable ford points.
In his 21 points Karuga shot seven pars in the first, second and third holes pars pars 4 before he bogeyed on 4th, parred on five and six bogeyed on 7th and parred on 8th and 9th.
The 22 points in the second nine were won with his good run with a birdie on 18th par five. He fired a bogey on 10th par 4 parred on 11th and 12th bogeyed on 13th par 5 and parred on 14th, 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th.
Karuga defeated Martha Munene on count back on 43 before Joseph Munene with 41 points.
In other prizes, John Kamais was the gross winner on 33. Machakos golfer Nderitu Macharia was the guest winner with 36 points, Trevor Hungi a junior title.
Duncan Kibue and Tevin Kihumba were first nine and second nine winners with 21 and 24 points in that order as Nancy Steinman was the nearest to the pin winner as Shiro Kaime and Daniel Kiragu from Muthaiga were the longest drive lady and man’s winners.
