Malkia strikers on All Africa Games title defence

Malkia Strikers will be seeking back to back All Africa Games title when they begin the 2019 Zone 5 African Games Qualifiers set for Kampala in a fortnight.

Head coach Japheth Mulana named a 19 member provisional squad as they chase the Zone 5 title before heading for the All Africa Games title defence.

The national women volleyball team won the title in 2015, following a 16 year long spell.

Above that, the Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) coach also handed Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) setter Easter Mutinda and Gladys Ekaru their maiden call up.

Apart from the debutants, he also named experienced players led by captain Mercy Moim, Jane Wacu, Janet Wanja, Triza Atuka and Noel Murambi.

Hosts Uganda will be joined by Kenya Tanzania, Burundi and Rwanda where the winner earns an ticket for All African Games finals to be held in for Morocco in August.
