Serani secondary will be the only team that will represent Kenya at the second edition of COPA Coca-Cola Africa Cup scheduled for Thika, starting from 2nd to 5th of December 2019.
With defending champions St. Anthony’s Kitale losing at the county level in the hands of Goseta, Serani will be chasing their maiden title after winning the national Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Under 16 category held in Kisumu.
St. Anthony won the title in the championships held in Nakuru with the tournament opened for schools across Africa.
Kenya is among the 21 teams in the Pan-African tournament as they host Uganda, Tanzania, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Angola, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Burkina Faso, Namibia and the host country Kenya.
Serani leads pool A alongside Mozambique and Zimbabwe with Angola and Bukina Faso making their debut in the junior tournament.
Pool B comprises South Africa, Zambia, and Tanzania while Ethiopia will spearhead pool C. They will have to fight with Namibia and neighbors Uganda. Burkina Faso highlights pool D and will entertain Angola and Botswana.
