Kenya failed to defend their Copa Coca Cola under 16 Africa Cup as Tanzania won the second edition of the title that came to an end today at M-Pesa Foundation Academy in Kiambu.
The hosts, represented by Serani Boys from Coast finished 4th, failing to capitalize on home ground advantage the way 2018 winners St. Anthony’s did in Afraha stadium, Nakuru.
Kenya lost 1-2 to Zambia on the third place play-off with Sifue Kuse scoring a brace for Zambia as Elisha Joel scored a consolation.
But it was all celebrations as Tanzania defeated Zimbabwe 6-2 in the final. Tanzania’s Julius Nyerere struck a hat-trick while Mohammad Rai, Harouni Ndile and Boniface Raphael secured scored a goal for Tanzania, while Zimbabwe had Inasio Perelo and Ronald Uziyaya scoring.
