Scrabble Kenya is the latest sports federation to postpone their tournament courtesy of Coronavirus pandemic.
In a communiqué from Scrabble Kenya Secretary General Evelyne Njogu, she communicated to the players that the federation is following the circular by the ministry of Health.
“In a view of the outbreak of COVID-19 and subsequent declaration of the pandemic by WHO, the government of Kenya has put in place measure to safeguard the public.”
“Following the sports ministry circular RE: SDSD1/11 and MOH Communiqué after confirmation of the first case in the country on participation of international sports activities and public gathering respectively, Scrabble Kenya wishes to inform members that all tournaments are suspended until further notice.”
“Let us practise hand-washing before and after games, cleaning of equipments and practise cough and sneezing hygiene.”
“SK will keep players updated on the evolving situation.”
