Kipchoge, Bekele set for virtual marathon relay

Olympic marathon champion Eliud Kipchoge and Berlin marathon champion Kenenisa Bekele are set to battle in the Virtual Marathon Relay in June.

According to BBC, Kipchoge from Kenya, Bekele of Ethiopia will be joined by Uganda’s Joshua Cheptegei and world half marathon record holder.

The race is set to be run between June 7th and 7th.

is open to all athletics fans worldwide.

Dubbed MA RA TH ON is a virtual team relay marathon race where people around the world can form a team of four to cover the marathon distance.

Each individual runner covers 10.5k so the team completes a full marathon together, alone. This allows participants to safely run solo in their own locations while running in a team via the virtual standings.
