Will records fall at Brussels Diamond League

World marathon record holder Brigid Kosgei, Olympic 1,500m champion Faith Kipyegon will be leading other top Kenyan top runners will be lining up in today’s Brussels Diamond League at King Baudouin stadium, Belgium.

This will be the 44th edition of the AG Memorial Van Damme with Kosgei and Kipyegon chasing One Hour world record and 1,000m records respectively.

Chepng’etich will be attempting the 2:28.98 set by Russia’s double Olympic champion Svetlana Masterkova on the same track in 1996 after missing the record with 0.17 seconds in Monaco three weeks ago.

Kosgei will be set to improve on her 64:28 set in 2019 at the Great North Run before winning Chicago Marathon with a world record of 2:14:04 bettering Paula Radcliffe’s 2003 record of 2:15:25.
