Leopards, Homeboyz win as FKF-PL kick off

AFC Leopards and Kakamega Homeboyz registered their victories in the 2020/2021 season opening day of Football Kenya Federation Premier league (FKF-PL) played in various fields across the country.

Leopards edged out Tusker FC in a match played at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani while Homeboyz defeated premier League returnees Vihiga United.

Ingwe captain Robinson Kamura and Elvis Rupia were on target as Tusker defender David Majak scored a consolation for the brewers in the 2-1 victory.

The 13th time champions Leopards came from a goal down to beat Tusker after Majak scored in the 21st minute but Leopards Kamura leveled the score in the 26th minute before Rupia converted a penalty.

At Mumias Complex in kakamega Count, David Odhiambo scored a solitary goal to seal their opening fixture against returnees Vihiga.

In the derby, Vihiga who earned promotion to the top flight lost the grip against Nicholas Muyoti side.
