Handicap 20 golfer Lina Shah swung into victory at the Johnnie Walker golf tournament played on nine hole Eldoret golf club today.
The former lady captain fired a total of 43 stable ford points after edging out Ndiuini Gikonyo with a points less.
The golfer started on a high note with par in the hole par 5, sunk a birdie in the second par 3, dropped one in 3 and 4 pars 4, recovered with a par in 5. But it was hell on earth after dropping three shots in the 6th par 4, before paring in 7 and 8 pars 3 and 4 and completed the opening nine with a bogey on pars 5.
In her return, she started badly with a double bogey in 10th par 4, bogeyed 11th par 3, dropped one in 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th pars 4, fired a par in 16th par three bogeyed in 17th par four and completed the title with a par in 18th par 5.
Handicap 18 golfer, Gikonyo finished in the second position with 42 points ahead of third placed Hillary Chelang’a on 41 points after teeing off as handicap 26.
