Kenyans eye Taipei marathon titles

Former Paris marathon winner Paul Lonyangata and Elisha Rotich will be hoping to collect titles at the Taipei Marathon in Taiwan on Sunday 20th December 2020 after days of quarantine.

But a new champion will be born in women’s race after defending champion Antonina Kwambai gave the race a wide berth after the organisers had quarantined all invited athletes and officials.

Last year, Kwambai won the women’s category in 2:31:27 ahead of Ethiopia’s Meskerem Abera (2:34:18) to spoil kenya’s podium sweep with Naomi Maiyo was third in 2:38:33

But it was a sweep in men’s race with Kenneth Mburu (2:14:52), Josphat Letting (2:15:20), and Charles Kigen (2:19:49).
