Harambee Stars defender David Owino Odhiambo has left his club Zesco United following the expiry of his contract.
Owino, who has been playing in the Zambian League for the last six years after joining in 2014 established himself among the best foreign acquisitions the club has made in recent years.
Zescounitedfc.com, reported that Owino, who played for Kenyan Premier League side, Gor Mahia, Owino won five league titles,3 Absa Cup championship and 2 Charity Shield honours with Zesco United.
He will also be remembered for his great defensive abilities. His intellect on and off the ball made him one of the most dependable defenders at the club.
In his farewell message, ZESCO United Chief Executive Officer, Richard Mulenga, praised Odhiambo for his professionalism and commitment to duty.
“On behalf of the ZESCO United Football Club Executive, I wish to take this opportunity to thank Odhiambo for his dedication and commitment to duty. We will never forget his contribution towards the growth and success of this football club.”
Owino played alongside Kenyan compatriots Anthony Akumu, Jesse Were, John Mark Makwatta, Musa Mohammed, Ian Otieno and Harun Shakava.
