Teams from Nairobi preparing for the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) league that serves off on 23rd will now use the Nyayo Stadium indoor gymnasium.
On Wednesday, the KVF executive committee members led by first Vice president Charles Nyaberi, Treasurer Kenneth Tonui and Deputy Treasurer, Moses Mbuthia at the Head Office of Sports Kenya following successful negotiations between the Federation and Sports Kenya to avail Nyayo stadium’s indoor arena for the forthcoming 1st leg matches of the 2021 KVF National league.
According to the statement from the office, all matches that were scheduled to be played in Nairobi at different outdoor venues will now be played at Nyayo national stadium.
KVF president Waithaka Kioni said that the comments on the change of venues for some of the league matches are well noted.
“The NEC apologies for inadequate consultations with the affected teams as well as for the late changes on the venues. We are sorry for the inconveniences caused to the affected teams. Kindly let’s embrace these new venues and move on,” wrote Kioni.
According to the fixtures released by the federation late last year, the Men’s league has attracted 13 teams while the women’s league has eight.
