Eldoret Lady Captain Faith Mburu carded 40 stable ford points to win the St. Andrews Turi golf tournament played on nine hole Eldoret golf club today.
Mburu relegated Eileen J to second position on count back for the title after setting the pace in the second nine with a hooping 23 points adding on her 17 in the inward nine.
Playing handicap 14, Mburu said she practiced for four days of the week to gain such good play, saying the tournament was good despite hold up in the inward nine that affected her game.
“Despite the hold up, the pins were dangerously positioned especially in holes 2, 7 and 8, which was sloppy. The good score in the second nine came as a result of a relaxed mind,” said Mburu.
Apart from winning the overall ttitle, she was also the lady’s overall winner followed by Eileen both on 40 points.
Long hitter Aron Kitur was the men’s winner on 39 stable ford points ahead of club captain Geoffrey Kitiwa and Santi Shah on 38 points for second and third positions respectively.
Jedidah Keitany and Nduini Gokonyo were first and second nine winners on 22 and 24 points while Kimutai Saina and Linda kangogo were longest drive lady and men respectively before former captain Anand Lakhani drove away nearest to the pin title.
