Harambee Stars Joseph Okumu is set to join Scottish Premier League side Glasgow Rangers from Elfsborg.
The Rangers’ technical bench, led by Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, believes the 23-year-old could be a perfect replacement for Filip Helander, who has been linked with a move away at the end of the season.
Okumu will be joining a packed Rangers defence that has Leon Balogun, Connor Goldson and Jack Simpson.
The former Chemelil Sugar defender joined played for Real Monarchs in the United States and then Elfsborg in 2019.
If the deal comes through, Okumu, 23, will follow in the footsteps of compatriot Victor Wanyama who penned a four-year contract with Celtic in 2011 from Belgian club Germinal Beerschot.
