Kandie outshine Kamworor to win Istanbul half marathon

World half marathon silver medalist Kibiwott Kandie led a podium sweep at the Istanbul Half marathon ran today in Turkey.

The world half marathon led an all Kenyan podium sweep with former world half marathon record holder Geoffrey Kamworor in second and upstart Roncer Kipkorir in third for all Kenyan show.

Kandie set a new course record of 59:35 ahead of Kamworor, who was taking part in his first international race since he recovered from a motorbike accident in Eldoret last year, was second in 59:38 and Kipkorir was third in 59:46 while Ethiopia’s Amdework came fourth in 59:48. Leonard Barsoton clocked 59:59 to enter into the top five.
