Malkia Strikers, the national women’s volleyball team head coach Paul Bitok, has named the final squad for next month’s tour of Brazil after dropping four players.
The 16 players, who have been in bubble training at Kasarani under the supervision of Kenya Volleyball Federation in preparations for the Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan in July.
The 45- day stay in Brazil will see Kenyan queens train in a high performance training camp, where they are expected to play friendly matches.
The 16 were drafted from the initial 20-member squad. Those dropped include veteran Kenya Prisons’ middle blocker Joan Chelagat, KCB left attacker Jemimah Siang’u and the Directorate of Criminal Investigation duo of centre player Carolyne Sirengo and Josephine Wafula who is a libero player.
