Sharks, Homeboyz and Ulinzi dominate Saturday show

Kariobangi Sharks, Kakamega Homeboyz and Ulinzi Stars won maximum points in today’s Kenya Premier League matches played across the country.

Sharks captain Erick Kapaito bagged a brace to guide his side register the biggest win in the Saturday match at Thika stadium with a 4-0 thrashing of league returnees Vihiga United.

Kapaito started the scoring in the 5th minute for a 1-0 lead before James Mazembe double the score in the 14th monute for a 2-0 lead. Peter Lwasa was on target in the 36th minute before Kapaito completed his brace in the 64th minute.

Following the win, Sharks moved to 4th position on 41 points after playing 25 matches while Vihiga still in danger zone, of 16th position after playing 25 matches with 16 points, two better than bottom placed Mathare United.

At the Nakuru ASK showground, Kakamega Homeboyz were 2-1 winners against Nzoia Sugar. Nzoia players Shami Kibwana headed in his own net to give Homeboyz the lead in the 41st minute before Nicholas opoku double the score for 2-0 but Shami redeemed himself to convert from the spot for a 2-1 win.

The win propelled Homeboyz to position six with 37 points after playing 24 matches while sugar millers remained in position 14 with 21 points after 24 matches.

Other winners of the day wre Ulinzi Stars who beat Western Stima 2-1 at the same venue.

Mark Bikokwa and Masuta Masita scored for the sildiers while Laban Otieno netted a consolation for Stima.

In other matches, David Owino struck from the spot to help second placed KCB earn a point against Wazito with a one-all draw at Thika Stadium.

The 86th minute penalty was the savior for the banker to level the parity after Wazito’s Michael Owino had scored in the 33rd to salvage a point to keep their hopes of clinching the title.

The draw was good for KCB, remained in the second position after amassing 48 points, six less than leaders Tusker who beat AFC leopards 2-0 on Friday while Wazito remained in the 9th position on 31 points.

Champions Gor Mahia played to one-all draw against Nairobi City Stars  while 2009 champions Sofapaka registerd the smilar score against Posta Rangers.
