Taekwondo coach Murangu left out of Olympic journey

Linus Murangu, the national taekwondo head coach has been left out of the traveling team ahead of Olympic Games that starts this Friday in Tokyo, Japan.

With only one athlete Faith Ogallo, who qualified to fly the Kenyan flag at the games, Murangu was sopposed to be her coach inseated she flew out with coach Elliakim Otieno, physiotherapist Joseph Kolli and Kenya Taekwondo Federation (KTF) Chairman Major (Rtd) Suleiman Sumba. 

Due to Covid-19 pandemic, the Kenya’s contingent to the Olympics has been in bubble camp at Kenyatta University and Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, in Nairobi.

Initially, Murangu had sued National Olympics Committee of Kenya to the Sports Dispute Tribunal to include him in the traveling team but that order was never effected.

Ogallo left the country today for the games.
