Jelani Kihanya and Brianna Ngechu swung into victory at the Junior Golf Tournament that teed off at the par 71 Muthaiga Golf club today (Tuesday and Monday).
Limuru’s Kihanya won the title when he fired 49 points for the overall boys’ category beating Ndumberi’s Peter Waiharo who managed 45 points with home player Karoki Mathu coming in third on 44 points.
Kiunjuri Mathu won the Hiddem Hole prize with 36 points.
Ngechu posted 30 points to win the girls’ category ahead of N. Macharia who scored 19 points and Wanjiku Mathu managed 13 points for third position.
In the 10 years and above category, Justin Ngeera posted 30 points, as Keysse Adams on 27 points was second and coming home third was Samai Mediratta with 25 points. Amanda Njoroge was the best girl in that category with 10 points.
The junior tournaments continues on Wednesday and Thursday aged five to seven, eight to 10, who will play three and five holes, age 10 and above who will play nine holes, and the handicap juniors who will battle 18 holes.
