Kariobangi Sharks, Wazito FC and KCB won all their Wednesday matches to improve on premier league top standings.
Sharks shocked champions Gor mahia with 2-1 win in a match played at the Thika stadium in Kiambu County.
League top scorer Erick Kapaito converted a penalty to score the opener for the Sharks before Robert Onyango doubled the score in the 70th minute but Gor’s substitute Jules Ulimengu scored a consolation in the dying minutes.
The win was good for Sharks jumped AFC Leopards into third on 44 points with Leopards, who lost to Posta Rangers on Tuesday with a match less than Sharks moved to 4th on 43 points.
Kapaito’s goal cemented his lead of the top scorers’ chart on 22 goals, eight above his closest competitor, Elvis Rupia of AFC Leopards.
At Nakuru Showground, won a double against Kakamega Homeboyz with a 1-0.
Wyvonne Isuza scored the solitary goal to seal the victory in the same score they did in the first round.
Still at Thika stadium, KCB defeated former champions Ulinzi Stars 2-1 to cement their second position on the log.
David Simiyu scored the winning goal after the bankers coming for a goal down for the win.
Ulinzi’s Masita Masuta scored first for the soldiers in the 45th minute but Derrick Otanga levelled for the bankers on 53rd minute after converting from the penalty then Simiyu struck the winning.
The win made the bankers to stay in the second position with 51 points, four behind leaders Tusker who played to a one all draw against Mathare United on Tuesday while Ulinzi remain 10th on 34 points.
Vihiga United and Nairobi City Stars battled to a barren draw in Nakuru’s Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) Showground while Posta Rangers recorded the similar score against Nzoia Sugar FC.
