City Stars, Rangers, Ulinzi, Bidco and Nzoia win

Nairobi City Stars, Posta Rangers, Ulinzi Stars, Bidco United and Nzoia Sugar shocked bigwigs in today’s Kenya Premier League matches played across the country.

City Stars shocked leaders Tusker with a 1-0 win at their backyard at Ruaraka Grounds with the solitary goal netted by Ezekiel Odera.

The win propelled Stars position five with 41 points while the brewers still retained their top position with 55 points from 27 matches.

Posta Rangers produced another shock by beating second placed KCB 2-0 at the Thika stadium with Jackson Dwang’ bagging the brace. The win moved the mailmen to 12th position with 31 points from 27 matches while the bankers remained in the same position 54 points after playing 27 games.

Former champions Ulinzi Stars came from a goal down to down returnees Vihiga United at the Nakuru ASK ground. Ibrahim Shambi bagged a brace for the soldiers, cancelling out Stewart Omondi’s first have goal for Vihiga to remain at the relegation zone.

The win propelled 10th position on 40 points from 28 matches while Vihiga still rooted in the 16th position with 20 points after playing 28 matches.

Still at Thika Stadium, Erick Gichimu netted a solitary goal when Bidco United defeated Western Stima 1-0.

The newbies remained in the 11th position with 38 points from 27 matches while Stima are still in the red zone 21 points from 28 matches lying in the 15th position.

Nzoia Sugar Fc were the biggest winners of the day, humiliating Bandari FC 4-1 at the Nakuru aSK ground.

Hillary Simiyu scored off in the scoring marathon, with just six minutes into the match for Nzoia. Eight minutes later, Kevin Wanyama doubled the score for a 2-0 lead then Felicien Okanda scored the third in the 3-0 lead in the 27th minute but Bandari’s Johanna Mwita netted a consolation in the 46th minute for 3-1 but Gaeta Masha sealed off the victory in the 87th minute.

The win was good for Nzoia as they remain static in the 14th position with 26 points from 27 matches while Bandari retained their 9th position from 27 matches with 40 points.
