Free-scoring Vihiga Queens qualified into the semifinals of the ongoing CECAFA CAF championships qualifiers at the Kasarani stadium.
The former national Kenya Women Premier league champions thrashed New Generation 8-0, which was a must win match for the Kenyan side to finish second in pool B behind unbeaten side Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) who ended pool matches with a 10-0 win over Yei Joint Stars of Zanzibar.
Jentrix Shikangwa walked home with a hat-trick with Teresah Engesha scoring a brace while Mercyline Anyango, Maurine Achieng and Robai Kabadi scored a goal each for the final 8-0 scoreline.
Following the win and taking the second position, Vihiga will now face Tanzanian side Simba Queens who topped pool A.
Shikangwa was on target first in the 20th minute, into the 1-0 break as Engesha doubled the score in the 52nd minute and Shikangwa netted her second in the 58th minute for 3-0.
Anyango was on target in the 61st for 4-0 with Achieng scoring the 5th then Kabadi went for the 6th as Engesha bagged her brace with Shikangwa sealing the victory with a hat-trick.
