Chepkirui, Langat win Vienna City marathon titles

Vibian Chepkirui and Leonard Langat won the 38th edition of Vienna City marathon to extend the Kenyans dominance in the race.

Chepkirui won the women’s title, replacing Nancy Kiprop who won three times. Making her debut in Austrian capital, clocked 2:24.29 for the title ahead of Ethiopia’s Meseret Dinke in 2:25.31 beating compatriot Gelete Burka to third timing 2:25.38.

Langat won the men’s race after benefited from a costly error by Ethiopian Derara Hurisa.

Hurisa had breasted the tape first in a time of 2:09.22, however he was disqualified for racing in non-compliant shoes. 

Langat, who had finished second in a time of 2:9.25
