Incredible Krop and El Bakkali shine at Kip Keino Classic

Jacob Krop and Soufliance El Bakkali took over the reign at the Kip Keino Classic Track and field championships at the Kasarani stadium.

After failing to represent Kenya at the Olympic Games in Tokyo Japan, Krop won the 5,000m title ahead of former Africa junior champion Nicholas Kipkorir Kimeli for the title.

Krop, who completed his Form Four in April won the title in13:23.49 with Kimeli, who was the favourite at the starting line-up was second timing 13:23.99 and Benson Kiplagat completed the podium in 13:25.27 in an all Kenyan podium sweep.

In 3,000m steeplechase, Olympic champion Bakkali continued with his supremacy beating Kenyans on home soil winning the title in …while Olympic 3,000m steeplechase bronze medalist Abraham Kibiwot was second clocking 8:21.20 with Ethioipan Chala Beyo in third on 8:23.33 and world under 20 3,000m steeplechase gold medalist Amos Serem in 4th with 8:23.36
