Champions Vihiga face Mamelodi Sundowns at CAF Opener

Former Kenya Women Premier League champions Vihiga Queens has landed a pool of death at the inaugural CAF Women Champions League that will be held in Cairo, Egypt.

The Boniface Nyamunyamu coached side will be taking on Nigeria’s River Angels, Morocco’s Asfar FC and South African Mamelodi Sundowns in pool B with the championships set for November 9th to November 19th.

The Cecafa champions, qualified for the CAF Champions league after beating Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) 2-1 at the finals played at Nyayo stadium.

The Kenyan Queens will be opening fixture against Mamelodi Sundowns, then Asfar before finishing their group ties against River Angels.

With only two pools, Egyptian side Wadi Degla leads pool A tat has Mali’s AS Mande, Malabo Queens from Equatorial Guinea and Hasaacas Ladies of Ghana where top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals.
