Momanyi and Kibet lead Kenyans to dominate Ljubljana marathon

Former Commonwealth Games 10,000m champion Grace Kwamboka Momanyi and upstart Ernest Kibet Tarus won the 25th edition of Ljubljana Marathon ran today in Slovenia Republic.

Kwamboka, the former Africa Athletics championships 5,000m bronze medalist was victorious in women’s race with 2:38.10.

The Kenyan, who was the flag bearer during the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing also won the Ottawa marathon two times, 2000 and 2005.  

Making his debut at the race, Tarus cut the tape in 2:22.39 ahead home boy Marko Rankovic who timed 2:27.09.
