Former world cross country champion Agnes Jebet Tirop murder prime suspect Ibrahim Rotich is set to take the plea later this month.
Rotich, who was presented in an Eldoret Court today, will be taking the plea on November 16th next week after undergoing mental assessment at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) in the next seven days.
Eldoret high court deputy registrar Diana Milimu gave the directive upon request by the office of Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) through its lawyer David Fedha.
Rotich was transferred to Eldoret high court from Iten law court today where he appeared for the second time since his arrest in October last month as dci says they have overwhelming evidence to prefer a murder case against the accused.
DCI had asked for 20 more days to complete its investigation when the suspect was first arraigned in court after being arrested in Mombasa before being transferred to Elgeyo Marakwet in Iten
Meanwhile the suspect will continue being held at the Eldoret railway police station until he takes plea next week before a duty judge.
