MMUST dominate KUSA Western Conference games

Keegan Mafuta, Dennis Shigami and Travelian Ali scored goal each when Eldoret Police defeated Huruma community in a football match played at the Huruma Ground.

With Police getting another way of fighting criminal activities in Uasin Gishu county through sports, they beat Huruma 3-0 on Sunday ahead of Langas, Munyaka and Kamukunji meetings later on.

Mafuta scored first in the 57th minute followed by Shigami in the 69th minute and Ali sealed the victory.

“This is good to allow police interact freely with locals. The officers mingled with members of the community through sports and they will use sports to create awareness among youths by educating them on dangers of engaging in criminal activities. We need to tell youths to stop crime and play football for a safer society,” said Sango.

The county police commander Ayub Ali Gitonga said sports will bring together members of the community and police teams.

He said as police, they have started with soccer and if they will get more sponsors to fund the event they will introduce more sports appreciated by locals.

“As police service we have realized that Sports bring youths together and by engaging them in sports we keep them busy, hence free them from bad company that easily persuades them to engage in felony activities,” said Gitonga.
