Anya returns as Simiyu hands Wekesa and Omondi Shuja debut in Dubai7s

Shujaa head coach Innocent Simiyu has named Kevin Wekesa and Tony Omondi in the squad for the World Rugby7s opening led in Dubai between September 26th to September 27th.

Simiyu handed Wekesa and Omondi their debut in the squad that leaves the country on Sunday for the Dubai, which will also see the return of Edmund Anya.

Simiyu said that Wekesa has a lot of potential, and he may be the next Andrew Amonde. Omondi was in line for his debut in Vancouver until a concussion ruled him out.

“Anya played well during the pre-season Safari 7s, and apart from his pace and ball carrying ability,  brings another dimension in the air. We are looking at how to improve on our team execution in the quest to attain our set targets,” said Simiyu.

Kenya lies in Pool B with alongside the USA, Argentina and Spain.
