Black Mamba and Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) Ulinzi Sharks defeated their opponents as Kenya Handball Federation National League came to an end today at the Nyayo stadium.
In men, Mamba were 31-30 winners against Ulinzi to amass 32 points as the finished 5th on 28 points with the title already won by National Cereals and Produce Board (NCBP) on 34 points with Strathmore University after gaining 32 points in the 18 team league.
As the league came to an end today, Generation player Celestas Okoyana was the top men’s scorer with 134 goals followed by General Service (GSU) Christopher Mayende with 118 and Ulinzi’s Kevin Imo to complete the podium on 116 goals.
As men lose their matches, their female counterparts KDF Ulinzi Sharks beat NCBP 21-17 to move to second, dislodging NCPB third to third.
The women title was won by Nairobi Water Queens who claimed back to back titles on 28 points in the 14 team league.
The unbeaten side did not drop a point, registering 100% wins with Ulinzi Sharks in second with 24 points and NCPB completing the podium on 18 points.
Ulinzi’s Sarah wasike was the top scorer with 93 goals followed by Sarah Mabonga of NCPB with 89 and nanyuki’s Marjorie Okwakau ending top three with 81.
