Kipchoge to battle Lewandowski, Verstappen, Brady, Djokovic and Dressel for Laureus Awards

World marathon record holder Eliud Kipchoge will be competing with top athletes for this year’s sportsmen that have been nominated for Laureus Awards. 

The two-time Olympic marathon champion Robert Lewandowski from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, Formula One champion Max Verstappen of the Netherlands and American footballer Tom Brady. 

Also nominated for the award include Novak Djokovic of Serbia and American swimmer Caeleb Dressel.

Kipchoge has has a good season winning London Marathon, and successfully defending his Olympic marathon title.

The 22-year-old Laureus Awards is an annual ceremony to fete and honour sportspersons and teams that have used sports to create change on and off the field by virtue of their performances.
