Kenya Police and Strathmore University begin their Kenya Hokey league on winning ways

Former champions Kenya Police and Strathmore University started on high after overcoming their opponents in today’s Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) premier league matches that kicked off today at the City Park stadium.

In men, Samuel Uongo grabbed a brace in their 3-0 win over Wazalendo while Strathmore were 3-0 winners against Sliders in the women category.

As Uongo grabbed a brace in the 14th and 27th minute, Oliver Echenje had his name on the score sheet for Police in the 21st minute in a sweet revenge.

For the women, Maurine Ongoche, Angela Wema and Jane mango were on target for Strathmore.  

In men’s super league, Nakuru Hockey Club 1-0 winners against Kenya College of Accounts University with the solitary goal scored by Alex Taiswa in the 55th minute while Kenyatta University(KU) men’s team came from behind to hold Wazalendo Masters to a 1-1 draw.

In the women’s Super League, KU defeated Vikings 2-0.

Laurine Makuku and Laura Webala scored in the 48th and 58th minutes respectively through penalty corners.
