Bullish Kenya retain ECASA title as Oyende claim individual win

Kenya’s Allan Oyende reclaimed the title he won in 2018 during the concluded East, central and Southern Africa Scrabble (ECASA) championships held in Jinja, Uganda.

Oyende, who had lost his Kenya one position, was retained after leading Kenyans in a 1-2 podium finish with Francis Wachira coming in second to help team Kenya retain the overall title they last won in 2019 with 2020 and 2021 missing due to the coronavirus.

Team Kenya managed to retain the title after scooping 4.40 points ahead of hosts Uganda who managed 11.00 points and Zambia completing the podium on 34.00 points.
