Ongare and Kusa beaten out of IBA World Women Boxing championships

Reigning Commonwealth Games bronze medalist Christine Ongare and Lorna Kusa have been bundled out of the ongoing IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships in Istanbul Turkey.

Ongare lost to the reigning World championships silver medalist Hanna Okhota from Ukraine 5-0 points last night while Kusa lost to Kazakhstan’s Valentina Khalzova.

Ongare and Kusa were making their second appearance at the global championships after their debuts in 2012.

Tonight, four Kenyans flyweight Ann Wanjiru, featherweight Beatrice Akoth, middleweight Elizabeth Akinyi and promising light welterweight Teresia Wanjiru will be in action.
