Kibet and Barngetuny qualify into 800m semifinals in Cali

Reigning world under 20 800m bronze medalist Noah Kibet and new comer Dominic Kiptoo barng’etuny will be battling for 800m title at the ongoing World Under 20 Athletics championships in Cali, Colombia.

Kibet, who won the bronze last year behind the champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi (gold) will be hoping to improve on medal win after qualifying in today’s heats.

He won heat one in 1:51.37 beating Australia’s Charlie Jefferson to second in 1:51.69 and USA’s Miles Brown completing the podium in 1:51.82 to qualify.

Barngetuny finished second in heat 5 behind Algeria’s Heithm Chenitef (1:50.71) and Mathew Erickscon from Canada coming third timing 1:50.99
