Emily Ngii win bronze in race walking in Birmingham

Reigning Africa 10,000m race walk champion Emily Ngii won a bronze in women’s 10,000m race walk at the ongoing Commonwealth Games.

Ngii ran away with Africa record in 45:50.00 for bronze behind Australia’s Jemima Montag (42:34.00) and Indian Priyanka Goswami winning silver timing 43:38.00.

Ngii, who was making her second appearance at the Games after finishing eighth in 2010 Delhi, said she hopes to get a slot for next year’s World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary and subsequently 2024 Paris Olympics
