Brian Akun elevated to KGU chairman’s position unopposed

Brian Akun has been elected as Kenya Golf Union (KGU) chairman to serve for the next one year.

Akun, who has been serving as the vice chairman under Chris Kinuthia for the last one year, was elected unopposed during the union’s Annual General Meeting held yesterday at the Muthaiga Golf Club.

Coming from Vet Lab, Akun will be assisted by Kenya Railway’s Jonathan Marucha. Marucha has now been elevated after serving as the secretary in the past regime.

Peter Mwaura from Ruiru will serve as secretary following his promotion from an executive member.

Weldon Mutai from Sigona, who also served as retained his position as treasurer.
