Kenya Simbas drop in Rugby World Ranking

Kenya Simbas, the national men’s rugby 15s team has dropped from the latest Rugby World Ranking released.

The Jerome Paarwater team has dropped two positions from 33rd in the world to 35th in the world following their 4th placed finish at the Rugby Africa Cup, the Rugby World Cup qualifiers that came to an end over weekend in Kampala, Uganda.

Kenya lost 15-05 to Algeria, who then moved up 43rd in the world and Simbas have gained 50.09 ranking points.

Also those affected downwards include in the continental include Zimbabwe Sables have emerged as Africa’s top-ranked team after South Africa

The Sables edged Namibia in a dramatic Rugby Africa Men’s Cup final at Mandela National Stadium in Uganda to claim the continental crown and secure a spot at the 2027 Men’s Rugby World Cup in Australia.

Algeria, buoyed by their second consecutive victory over the Kenya Simbas in two years, made the biggest leap of the week, surging 10 places up to 43rd.

Senegal also saw a significant rise, moving six places up to 45th, while Morocco dropped three places to 40th. Uganda, after finishing seventh in the Rugby Africa Cup, have slipped to 50th in the rankings.
