CHAN: Tanzanian Taifa Stars shine over Burkina Faso in opening fixtures

Taifa Stars, the Tanzanian national soccer team started their Africa nations Championships (CHAN) in style, winning against Burkina Faso in the opening match.

The CHAN co-hosts with Kenya and Uganda managed to record 2-0 to shine at home with goals coming from Abdul Hamisi Hussein and Iddi Alli.

The Azam FC striker Hamisi scored first, putting the hosts 1-0 ahead on the half-time mark from penalty spot when Clement Mzize was brought down in the box and beat Burkina Faso goalkeeper Ladji Sanou.

After half time, Alli headed in the second and winning goal for the home side for 2-0.

Tomorrow, Kenya will be hosting DRC Congo tomorrow at the Kasarani stadium then Angola playing Morocco before Uganda play Algeria.
